In the application of the \u201cLaws of Diminishing Return\u201d to food, and (maybe) experiences, that at some point eating or doing the same thing over and over, you get less and less pleasure. Well, this law does not apply to the world of the Appalachian String Band Festival or better know as \u201cClifftop.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For the fifth straight year the family made the trip to annual event held in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. With each year we gain new friends and get to visit ones we have met in previous years. Our musical family is truly growing. The weather was not the best but everyone managed to keep ourselves and instruments dry and it surly did not dampen our spirits as we played in rain or shine (thank goodness for tents). Our campsite was close to all activities and the Chestnut Lodge (pictured above). It was easy to find with our now official sign. Just look for this to join a great jam!\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We participated in two porch jam sessions on Friday night and Saturday afternoon that seemed to go on for ever. Players of all ages joined in with songs being called out, stories being told, and great music being played. The band with friends Dennis and Gary participated in the traditional band contest on Saturday. We played the song \u201cCharlie\u2019s Neat.\u201d We tied for 6th place with all of the other bands that did not make the finals.<\/p>

Special thanks to Sid, Larry, and Edna for setting up a great camp site and brother David and all of our friends for making the trip to visit and play. Onward to next year!!<\/p>
