It was another excellent time at the string band festival this year. I believe this was our 11th time at our Huntington camp and it just gets better and better. We enjoyed seeing our good friend Lucas perform in the neo-traditional band contest as well as being with others:
- A very bright young person who at 7 years of age who could play multiple instruments such as the violin, mandolin, and Autoharp
- Getting to play in an outdoor jam with individuals from Canada
- Having a traveler, Pablo, from Spain and his cousin from Georgia join with us
Our adventure included the Stony Point Sting Band playing for one of the flat foot workshops. It was fun to not only watch people learn this wonderful form of dancing but also to play as they learned. Weather was not a big issue during our time there with only a few rain showers in the evenings.
