A quiet weekend in early March was a good reason to get in some more play time. The weekend focused on learning some new songs including those written by brother David and included the song “Bill Cheatham” a song that was performed at the Appalachian String Band Festival traditional contest. This tune has an interesting “hook” of an ending that took forever to learn. To get us all performing this as designed took us well over 10 times before getting it correct. A recording of the moment of success is provided. Other songs we practiced where: “Jessie James,” “John Hardy,” and “The Old Man.”
