For the last couple of years Edna, Tim, and Larry have joined with two others from their home town and formed the “Stony Point String Band.” There has been mention of this group on this site before but over the last year they have become a fixture in Old Time music in their geographic area.
They were asked to be the opening act for the 2017 Jewel City Jamboree and a great show was presented. This event is held in Huntington, West Virginia along the banks of the Ohio river at Harris Park. Tunes such as “Waldorf’s Reel” and “Elzic's Farewell” where played and everyone enjoyed the vocals from songs such as “Like a Songbird that has Fallen” from the movie “Cold Mountain” and “Jessie James.” If you ever want to see them play, just come done to Ritter Park on most Sundays.
