An open house was held to celebrate the wedding of John’s daughter Emily to Fred. Wedding took place the day after the open house and many of John’s friends and our family were able to attend. Of course, we had a jam session that exposed many to the sounds of Old Time music. We played for about 2 hours and went through many of our favorite songs such as “Tennessee Flat Top Box” and “Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine.” We also got to play a couple of songs written by our brother David such as “Hidden Angel” with our niece Katy joining in. Lots of food, fun, and music.
The evening before, we got a chance to practice/play and have our sister Fran join in with her fantastic voice and a bit of fiddle playing. Spent most of the time working on harmonies for songs like Anchored in Love and adding the fiddle to our some of our standards “Cripple Creek” and “Buffalo Gal.”
